I am currently driving a 2017 Charger V6 because my 2016 Challenger Hellcat 6 Speed is at Huntington Beach Dodge getting fixed. I have only had my Hellcat for a few weeks (1,300 miles so far) so to have to take it into the dealer already is a little annoying. A week or so ago the parking brake stopped working. You push in the pedal and it just does all the way to the floor and does nothing. Why is the parking brake a pedal in this car? Good question and I have no idea. My car is a 6 speed so there are four pedals and its a little strange. The car rental at the dealer is all covered under warranty so that’s nice. Driving the base Charger really makes me appreciate my Challenger Hellcat. The Chargers 292 horse power V6 isn’t bad, but this is a very heavy car at 4,000 lbs. I have not yet driven the Charger Hellcat, but I bet it will be a really fun car to drive when I get my hands on one. The Charger is a very comfortable car to drive and it reminds me of a 1994 Police Package Caprice (Impala) I had once upon a time. Although I think this V6 might be faster. The 1994 Impala/Caprice with the LT1 didn’t have much power but was a great cruiser car and very comfortable. Not to get too far off topic, but I would love to have another one of those. This time I would buy a 1996 Impala because that’s the year with the floor shifter. Hope to get my Hellcat back soon and will keep you updated.
